Cheong Wa Dae held a standing National Security Council (NSC) meeting presided over by National Security Office chief Chung Eui-yong on Wednesday and inspected the preparation of the SCM (SAC) between the two defense authorities in Washington.

In addition, it reviewed a publicized version of the "National Security Strategy Guidelines," which set basic guidelines for the government's foreign, unification and defense policies. Cheong Wa Dae plans to issue national security strategy guidelines next week after the approval of the president.
The national security strategy guidelines are the government's top-level planning documents on national security policies, which reflect changes in the security environment and the current administration's policy direction in the diplomatic, unification and defense sectors.
